La agencia federal se ha centrado en aserraderos, panader\u00edas comerciales y establecimientos minoristas de Pensilvania y de todo el pa\u00eds para someterlos a una evaluaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s exhaustiva. Estos lugares est\u00e1n siendo objeto de un estrecho seguimiento debido a la interacci\u00f3n de los trabajadores con maquinaria que podr\u00eda provocar lesiones graves o la muerte si no se utiliza o protege adecuadamente.<\/p>\n<p>En concreto, la revisi\u00f3n evaluar\u00e1 el riesgo de que un empleado sufra lesiones al limpiar o engrasar una m\u00e1quina. Tambi\u00e9n se analizar\u00e1 si un empleado corre el riesgo de sufrir lesiones al desatascar la m\u00e1quina. Por \u00faltimo, se verificar\u00e1 que las m\u00e1quinas est\u00e9n bloqueadas cuando no est\u00e9n en uso, lo que reducir\u00eda la probabilidad de que se pongan en marcha cuando no deben.<\/p>\n<p>Para determinar en qu\u00e9 \u00e1mbitos se debe realizar una revisi\u00f3n m\u00e1s exhaustiva, la OHSA utiliz\u00f3 una combinaci\u00f3n de estad\u00edsticas actuales sobre la aplicaci\u00f3n de la normativa y datos obtenidos por la <a href=\"https:\/\/ohsonline.com\/articles\/2015\/08\/14\/amputations-nep.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oficina de Estad\u00edsticas Laborales<\/a>. Seg\u00fan la Oficina de Estad\u00edsticas Laborales (BLS), 2.000 trabajadores del sector manufacturero sufrieron una amputaci\u00f3n en 2013, lo que equivale a una tasa de 1,7 por cada 10.000 trabajadores a tiempo completo.
