Si este tipo de polvo no se elimina peri\u00f3dicamente de la zona, existe la posibilidad de que los materiales en polvo exploten repentinamente en determinadas condiciones. Las part\u00edculas de polvo extremadamente finas que quedan suspendidas en el aire representan el mayor riesgo de polvo combustible.<\/p>\n<p>La Junta de Seguridad Qu\u00edmica de EE. UU. llev\u00f3 a cabo un estudio sobre <a href=\"http:\/\/safety.blr.com\/workplace-safety-news\/emergency-planning-and-response\/combustible-dust\/In-the-trench-strategies-for-recognizing-combustib\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">polvo combustible<\/a> y las muertes causadas por el polvo combustible. Entre 1980 y 2005, 119 trabajadores perdieron la vida en accidentes relacionados con el polvo combustible. Los peligros asociados a ciertos tipos de polvo pueden ser dif\u00edciles de evaluar, pero es posible realizar pruebas de explosividad del polvo.
