A los conductores de Pensilvania les interesar\u00e1 saber que esta es la raz\u00f3n por la que la Administraci\u00f3n Nacional de Seguridad del Tr\u00e1fico en Carreteras les anima a conducir con precauci\u00f3n durante las fiestas.<\/p>\n<p>Datos recientes del Sistema de Informes de An\u00e1lisis de Accidentes Mortales (FARS), que forma parte de la NHTSA, muestran que se produjeron 764 accidentes de tr\u00e1fico mortales en torno al D\u00eda de Acci\u00f3n de Gracias de 2012. La agencia tambi\u00e9n informa de que hubo casi 50 000 accidentes sin v\u00edctimas mortales. En comparaci\u00f3n, durante el periodo navide\u00f1o de 2012 se produjeron 654 accidentes mortales.<\/p>\n<p>En la mayor\u00eda de los casos, los usuarios de la v\u00eda p\u00fablica podr\u00edan haber evitado las muertes tomando medidas de seguridad sencillas, como no conducir bajo los efectos del alcohol y usar el cintur\u00f3n de seguridad. La NHTSA afirma que al menos el 40 % de los pasajeros que fallecieron se vieron involucrados en accidentes causados por conductores ebrios. Adem\u00e1s, alrededor del 60 % de los pasajeros no llevaba puesto el cintur\u00f3n de seguridad.<\/p>\n<p>La NHTSA tambi\u00e9n informa de que 341 conductores y pasajeros fallecieron en accidentes de tr\u00e1fico durante el fin de semana de Acci\u00f3n de Gracias de 2014. La mitad de ellos no llevaba puesto el cintur\u00f3n de seguridad.
